Both Trinidad and Tobago currently are under a Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert.
According to a release issued by the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), the Alert was activated at 3:00 am today, and will remain in effect until 2:00 this afternoon, unless the situation changes.
TTMS forecasters advise that there is a high chance of heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms associated with the passage of a low-level trough interacting with the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
This activity is expected to peak during the early/mid-morning hours of Sunday 16th August 2020.
Street/flash flooding is likely in heavy downpours and gusty winds near 60 km/hr can accompany showers and thunderstorms.
As such, the T&T Met Service is advising citizens to keep monitoring weather conditions and updates from official sources, namely: their website at metoffice.gov.tt; and the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) at odpm.gov.tt.
