“This participation at OTC signifies Trinidad and Tobago’s commitment to be a leader in the provision of energy services to the international energy market, while simultaneously transitioning the country’s downstream energy sector towards a cleaner and more sustainable future,” the Ministry said.
The Ministry notes that Trinidad and Tobago boasts over 100 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, positioning itself as a key partner for the global energy industry.
“As a first mover in the development of key energy services, Trinidad and Tobago still ranks among the top five producers and exporters of both methanol and ammonia globally,” the Ministry said.
It added: “Notwithstanding its continued involvement in the oil and gas sector, the country recognises the critical need for a low carbon future and is committed to transitioning its energy sector towards long-term sustainability.”
