Two  men  were  ar­rest­ed  for  pos­ses­sion  of  mar­i­jua­na  for  the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing by of­fi­cers of To­co Po­lice Sta­tion dur­ing a traf­fic du­ty ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in the dis­trict, ear­ly on Fri­day morn­ing.

An of­fi­cial po­lice state­ment re­ports that at around 1:10am, PC Singh stopped  a  Toy­ota  Hilux  ve­hi­cle dri­ven by a 33-year-old  man from San Souci, with a 31-year-old oc­cu­pant  from Omera Road,  Ari­ma.

A search of the ve­hi­cle was con­duct­ed which re­sult­ed in the dis­cov­ery of a cro­cus bag con­tain­ing 3.5 kilo­grams of mar­i­jua­na.

The TTPS re­lease states that the mar­i­jua­na has an es­ti­mat­ed street val­ue of $45,500.

Both men were for­mal­ly charged for pos­ses­sion of mar­i­jua­na for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing.

They are ex­pect­ed to ap­pear in a vir­tu­al hear­ing at the San­gre Grande Mag­is­trates’ Court, to­day.
