Two more people have died along a deadly strip of roadway stretching for 700 metres along the M2 Ring Road in Debe. Dead are Andre Ross, 22, of Mafeking Village, Mayaro and Reane Notan , 23, of Amichan Trace, Lower Barrackpore.
Injured was Habsraj Rajkumar, 69, a retiree, of 589 Mc Bean Village, Couva.
Police said around 10:30 am, Rajkumar was driving his white Toyota Fortuner east along the M2 Ring Road, Golconda when upon reaching the NGC Booster Station he collided with a blue Civic driven by Ross, who was heading in the opposite direction.
Notan was sitting in the passenger seat of Ross's car when the vehicles collided. Both Ross and Rajkumar died on the spot, while Notan was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital.
Sgt Nandlal, Sgt Ramdhanie and a party of officers visited the scene.
Known as the death strip, this part of the four-kilometre M2 Ring Road, has regular vehicular accidents and fatal car crashes.
Last year, 39-year-old Prakash Roopnarine of Munroe Road, Chaguanas and 16-year-old Reshma Rambarran, a student of ASJA Girls College, also died in the same area when Roopnarine's vehicle crashed into a van.
