Two killed, two wounded in shooting incidents

Two peo­ple were shot and killed overnight on Wednes­day, and two oth­ers were wound­ed in sep­a­rate in­ci­dents.

Around 12.54 am, po­lice re­spond­ed to a shoot­ing along Laven­tille Road, San Juan, near Boot Hill, where they met a 27-year-old man from Hap­py Hill stand­ing along the road with a gun­shot wound on the left side of his hip. They took him to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex, Mt Hope, where he was ward­ed.

Around 1.05 am, of­fi­cers of the North East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force al­so re­spond­ed to an­oth­er shoot­ing at Laven­tille Road, when they saw an uniden­ti­fied man of African de­scent, ap­prox­i­mate­ly five feet six inch­es tall, shirt­less and wear­ing a blue coloured three-quar­ter pants, suf­fer­ing from gun­shot wounds.

He was tak­en to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex where he was pro­nounced dead around 1.15 am.

A to­tal of 38 spent 9 mm shell cas­ings were re­cov­ered at both scenes.

Po­lice are yet to es­tab­lish a mo­tive.

In Ari­ma, in an un­re­lat­ed in­ci­dent, Dwayne Carim­bo­cas, aka Foots, 17, of Mar­tinez Trace, Ari­ma, was killed and a 19-year-old man of Al­mond Cres­cent, Bre­gon Park, was wound­ed.

Around 7.30 pm, Carim­bo­cas and the oth­er man were at a friend’s home at John Lane Ex­ten­sion, Ari­ma, when gun­shots were heard in the liv­ing room area. Carim­bo­cas was found ly­ing on the floor in the liv­ing room with a wound to his head and the oth­er man with a gun­shot wound on the right side of his but­tocks.

Po­lice re­spond­ed and took both men to the Ari­ma Hos­pi­tal, where Carim­bo­cas was pro­nounced dead on ar­rival around 8 pm.

The oth­er vic­tim was treat­ed and ward­ed in a sta­ble con­di­tion.

Po­lice re­cov­ered ten spent 9 mm shells, three frag­ments and two pro­jec­tiles. En­quiries are con­tin­u­ing.
