Two sec­ondary school stu­dents from T&T will fly to West Vir­ginia in the Unit­ed States for the 2023 Na­tion­al Youth Sci­ence Camp (NYSCamp) which runs be­tween June 19 to Ju­ly 12.

The U.S. Em­bassy in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Na­tion­al In­sti­tute of High­er Ed­u­ca­tion, Re­search, Sci­ence and Tech­nol­o­gy (NI­HERST) se­lect­ed the two stu­dents.

The stu­dents are Amar­nath Choon of Shi­va Boys’ Hin­du School and Daniel Se­bro of Queen’s Roy­al Col­lege. The stu­dent’s at­ten­dance is sup­port­ed by the U.S. De­part­ment of State’s Bu­reau of Ed­u­ca­tion­al and Cul­tur­al Af­fairs and the Na­tion­al Youth Sci­ence Foun­da­tion. This year ap­pli­ca­tions were ac­cept­ed from stu­dents 16-18 years old from across the coun­try.

The NYSCamp is a res­i­den­tial sci­ence, tech­nol­o­gy, en­gi­neer­ing, and math­e­mat­ics (STEM) pro­gram in the east­ern moun­tains of West Vir­ginia, Unit­ed States. The camp is de­signed to ho­n­our and chal­lenge ris­ing STEM lead­ers and pro­vide them with op­por­tu­ni­ties to en­gage with pro­fes­sion­als in the field.
