The Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress (UNC) says that it is on track for the Gen­er­al Elec­tions, fol­low­ing a con­tin­u­a­tion of the screen­ing process for se­lect­ing can­di­dates, on Tues­day 26th May 2020.

Ac­cord­ing to a state­ment is­sued by the par­ty this morn­ing, nom­i­nees for 12 more con­stituen­cies were screened, yes­ter­day.  Sev­er­al oth­er nom­i­nees al­ready were screened and named pre­vi­ous­ly, be­fore the COVID-19 cri­sis be­gan in Trinidad and To­ba­go.

The par­ty is ex­pect­ed to hold its sec­ond Vir­tu­al Meet­ing on Thurs­day 28th May 2020, from 7.30 pm.

UNC Po­lit­i­cal Leader, Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar SC MP, is ex­pect­ed to an­nounce the names of more UNC can­di­dates, at that meet­ing, in ad­di­tion to re­veal­ing more of the par­ty’s plans for Na­tion­al Eco­nom­ic Trans­for­ma­tion, out­lin­ing how it in­tends to cre­ate jobs and to get T&T work­ing again.
