Homicide investigators are trying to identify a man whose bullet-riddled body was found in Tunapuna early on Sunday morning.
Police said they received a report of a shooting at Achong Trace at 2.49 am and went to the scene where they found the body of a man. The body had multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest with several spent shells nearby.
The man appeared to be of mixed descent and in his mid-thirties. He was wearing a blue and white jacket, a pair of black track pants and a pair of red, white and black sneakers. A black and brown backpack was also found near his body.
A district medical officer was called in and declared the man dead. Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II are continuing enquiries.
