Homi­cide in­ves­ti­ga­tors are try­ing to iden­ti­fy a man whose bul­let-rid­dled body was found in Tu­na­puna ear­ly on Sun­day morn­ing.

Po­lice said they re­ceived a re­port of a shoot­ing at Achong Trace at 2.49 am and went to the scene where they found the body of a man. The body had mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds to the head and chest with sev­er­al spent shells near­by.

The man ap­peared to be of mixed de­scent and in his mid-thir­ties. He was wear­ing a blue and white jack­et, a pair of black track pants and a pair of red, white and black sneak­ers. A black and brown back­pack was al­so found near his body.

A dis­trict med­ical of­fi­cer was called in and de­clared the man dead. Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion II are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
