UTT moves to online courses because of COVID-19

The Uni­ver­si­ty of Trinidad and To­ba­go (UTT) has tak­en de­fin­i­tive steps to en­sure that all of its face-to-face and blend­ed pro­grammes move seam­less­ly to a ful­ly on­line mode of de­liv­ery dur­ing this pe­ri­od of the COVID-19 glob­al pan­dem­ic.

In a re­lease, of­fi­cials ad­vised that “With the clo­sure of all schools and high­er learn­ing in­sti­tu­tions lo­cal­ly, UTT has em­braced the op­por­tu­ni­ty to im­ple­ment dif­fer­en­ti­at­ed as­sess­ment strate­gies to fa­cil­i­tate stu­dent suc­cess dur­ing this se­mes­ter and be­yond.”

They said at present, UTT stu­dents are able to en­gage in dis­cus­sion fo­rums, sim­u­la­tions, and a range of con­tin­u­ous as­sess­ment ac­tiv­i­ties to suit their learn­ing pro­files.

All of this is fa­cil­i­tat­ed through the Uni­ver­si­ty’s Learn­ing Man­age­ment Sys­tem.

Mean­while, UTT has al­so put mea­sures in place to sup­port non-aca­d­e­m­ic staff who are re­quired to work re­mote­ly dur­ing this time.
