The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) has received academic licences from Halliburton under its University Grant Programme.
The donation comprises licences for the Landmark Technology Holding Incorporation Petroleum Engineering Software Suite. The licences were presented to UTT’s Energy Systems Engineering Unit. The university stated that the software will support teaching and research and provide students with access to tools used in the energy sector.
The presentation took place at a recognition event hosted by the university.
Landmark Country Manager Ricardo Alvares said the company is committed to building a partnership with the university and with future professionals.
Professor Selwyn R. Cudjoe O.R.T.T., Chairman of the Board of Governors, UTT, said the donation will ensure students have access to tools, knowledge and experiences required to contribute to Trinidad and Tobago and other countries.
Professor Rean Maharaj, Acting President, UTT, said the university remains focused on innovation and on preparing students to meet the needs of industry and society. He said partnerships such as the one between UTT and Halliburton allow the institution to provide students with access to tools, practical experience and opportunities linked to national development.
UTT thanked Halliburton for the contribution and for its support of development goals in Trinidad and Tobago.
