UWI St Augustine to host Virtual Student Town Hall today

Pro Vice-Chan­cel­lor and Cam­pus Prin­ci­pal Pro­fes­sor Bri­an Copeland will host a Vir­tu­al Town Hall with stu­dents of the St. Au­gus­tine Cam­pus of The Uni­ver­si­ty of the West In­dies (The UWI), this af­ter­noon, be­gin­ning at 2 p.m.

Pro­fes­sor Copeland will be joined by mem­bers of the Cam­pus Ex­ec­u­tive Man­age­ment as well as oth­er Cam­pus lead­ers.

Ac­cord­ing to an of­fi­cial re­lease from The UWI, to­day’s vir­tu­al town hall fol­lows on com­mu­niques be­gin­ning ear­ly March, re­gard­ing the health, safe­ty, and well-be­ing of stu­dents dur­ing the glob­al pan­dem­ic COVID-19.

Af­ter a brief sus­pen­sion of class­es, on­line teach­ing be­gan on March 16 for the Fac­ul­ty of Law; for all oth­er Fac­ul­ties, vir­tu­al in­struc­tion be­gan the week of Mach 23.

This af­ter­noon’s Vir­tu­al Town Hall will ad­dress stu­dent mat­ters re­lat­ed to re­mote teach­ing and learn­ing, ex­am­i­na­tions, and more. Stu­dents have been in­vit­ed to sub­mit their ques­tions in ad­vance.

The UWI says to­day’s meet­ing is in­tend­ed to be the first in a se­ries of vir­tu­al ses­sions that will tar­get sev­er­al mem­bers of the cam­pus com­mu­ni­ty, to sup­port the on­go­ing en­gage­ments.
