A 31-year-old Venezuelan man is being treated for gunshot wounds after he was attacked in Carenage early on Saturday morning.
The TTPS said officers of the Western Division received a report of gunshots near Paradise Bar on the Western Main Road, at around 3.30 am and went to the scene.
On reaching the scene they found the man bleeding from gunshot wounds to his chest and leg.
Officers took the wounded man to hospital where he was treated.
Investigators tried speaking with the man but said he did not understand much English.
Carenage police are continuing enquiries.
