The newly formed W.I. Laffin' Caribbean Comedy Festival in partnership with Scorch will launch a two-hour live online fundraising comedy special on May 23 at 7 PM ET to raise money for children affected by COVID-19.
The stream hosted by Jerome' Rome' Precilla with DJ Blasé Vanguard, it will feature comedians from all across the Caribbean and the Caribbean diaspora including White Yardie, Santana D Puppet, Shebada, Nikki Crosby, Ro' dey, Blakka, Errol Fabien, Delcita, Badboy Trevor, George Gonzalez and may more. This inaugural livestream event aims to provide viewers in the Caribbean, the wider diaspora, and beyond an opportunity to laugh and escape from the immediate stresses of the pandemic. Most importantly, funds raised by W.I. Laffin' will benefit economically at-risk children across the region via a Go Fund Me account set up to benefit UNICEF.

Our children are the most vulnerable during this pandemic. COVID-19 has upended children's lives as families struggle financially and emotionally as healthcare systems struggle businesses close and schools shut their doors. Children are more at risk to online predators, abuse, emotional trauma, and hunger now more than ever.

UNICEF is working to improve the lives of children across the globe in fighting the spread of misinformation about COVID-19. UNICEF works with health experts to educate parents, families, caregivers, and others to navigate through these uncertain times by combating discrimination and stigma and providing credible facts and helpful guidance.

W.I. Laffin' Caribbean Comedy Festival and Scorch are excited to raise funds to benefit
UNICEF as they raise awareness about children at risk during this time. All proceeds of W.I. Laffin' For A Cause will be donated to UNICEF Relief efforts in the Caribbean. Find out more about their work battling COVID-19 at UNICEF.org.
