Bail has been granted to a woman caught on camera, allegedly verbally and physically abusing two young girls.
Police said Jalissa Payne was charged with two counts of cruelty.
Head of the Special Victims Department Superintendent Clair Guy-Alleyne said Payne appeared before Master Sarah De Silva yesterday and was granted $50,000 bail and has to report to the San Juan Police Station every Saturday.
The girls, ages three and nine, along with another minor, will remain in the custody of the Children’s Authority.
Payne is set to reappear in court on April 15
She was arrested last Wednesday after police, in a joint effort with the Children’s Authority, went to the Hunt Road, San Juan location hours after a video surfaced on social media.
In the video, a woman was seen arguing with a group of people who were recording her as she allegedly physically and verbally abused two young girls.
