Police officers have launched a manhunt for a man accused of the attempted murder of his girlfriend in Freeport on Saturday.
According to a police report, the 41-year-old woman of Maraj Avenue, Mission Road, Freeport, is in critical condition after being set on fire by her common-law husband. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Saturday while the two were arguing.
The man, police said, allegedly doused the woman with gasoline and ignited the fire. He reportedly fled the scene and is currently in hiding.
