An 18-year-old woman was yesterday placed on a one-year bond after pleading guilty to various offences in connection with a domestic incident that occurred in September 2023.
The accused, who was charged on November 22nd by WPC Treavajo, of the Eastern Division, with Malicious Damage, Assault Occasioning a Wound and Larceny, pleaded guilty to each offence when she appeared virtually before Magistrate Cheron Raphael.
If she breaks the bond, the woman would be fined $10,000 in default. She was arrested after police investigated a report in which a 66-year-old man reported to police that, while at his home in East Trinidad on September 7th, 2023, a heated argument ensued.
During the quarrel, the woman threw items and damaged household appliances as well as the windshield to the man’s vehicle. The woman also assaulted him causing abrasions to his hands. She also stole several items and cash amounting to $11,750.
Police conducted further enquiries into the matter which led to the 18-year-old being arrested and charged with the offences.
