Representatives from the Winsie’s Treasured Hearts Foundation (WTHF) led by its founder, Dr Winsie-Ann Cuffie and other volunteers distribute hot meals, hampers and school supplies during flood relief efforts in Greenvale in La Horquetta yesterday.

As residents of Greenvale in La Horquetta continue their clean up operations yesterday many of them haven’t yet resumed their respective normal daily routine including cooking themselves a warm meal.

The frustrated residents, however, expressed gratefulness to representatives from the Winsie’s Treasured Hearts Foundation (WTHF) led by its Founder, Dr Winsie-Ann Cuffie and other volunteers, in a flood relief initiative yesterday.

The WTHF team delivered hot meals, water, canned foods, essential groceries, household items, toiletries, torch lights, clothing, hampers and blankets.

Among the items shared were books and other stationery to aid the children of affected families in heading back to school.

“This was an integral part of the drive as Winsie’s Treasured Hearts Foundation’s primary objective is to work together to support children and the community by promoting and creating avenues to foster the mental, psychological and social development of our precious children to ensure a solid foundation for success,” Cuffie said.

“This is done through various motivational and educational workshops and programmes, in addition to fun-filled games and sporting events for children’s homes across Trinidad,” she added.

The occupants of the Greenvale area were truly grateful and thankful for the tremendous support given by the foundation.

Cuffie, in commending the other organisations, communities and individuals across the country who are visiting and assisting affected individuals, said the willingness to support and remarkable unity they have seen thus far, is “outstanding.”

The foundation promised to continue to do their part and would like to encourage everyone to do the same, “to help their brothers and sisters get back on their feet and live comfortably again.”
