Ryan Ram­lakhan con­tributed with both bat and ball as Al­le­giance se­cured a 17 runs win over de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Drifters in the ma­jor semi­fi­nal of the Over-45 Ty­ro Sports Club Ten Overs Per Side Wind­ball Crick­et League spon­sored by Mon­te­co Cre­ations Lim­it­ed on Sat­ur­day.

Bat­ting first at the Gab­ba Ground, Bourg Mu­la­tresse, Low­er San­ta Cruz, Al­le­giance post­ed 88 runs for the loss of five wick­ets with Ram­lakhan hit­ting a top score of 24 runs from 26 balls while open­ers Dale Jagges­sar chipped in with 18, and Damien Pe­ters 12 re­spec­tive­ly with Dar­ren Mod­este the pick of the Drifters bowlers with two wick­ets for 14 runs.

How­ev­er, in their chase, Drifters was re­strict­ed to 71 runs for eight wick­ets with Gre­go­ry Webb and Mar­cus Wellint­g­ton both scor­ing 17 runs while Ryan Valen­tine and Ram­lakhan took one wick­et each for three and eight runs re­spec­tive­ly from two overs each to fall short of their tar­get by 17 runs.

With the win, Al­le­giance se­cured a spot in teh tour­na­ment fi­nal, while Drifters will have a sec­ond bite at a chance to de­fend their crown when they meet

In Sat­ur­day's first quar­ter­fi­nal, Sa­van­nah Boys thrashed Rene Un­known by 88 runs led by swash-buck­ling 71 runs from 37 balls from Col­in Roberts, which in­clud­ed 11 fours and three six­es.

Damien Hanooman added 49 runs from 26 balls for Sa­van­nah Boys in­clu­sive of three fours, and four six­es in their daunt­ing to­tal of 157 with­out loss be­fore they lim­it­ed Rene Un­known to 69 runs for six wick­ets with Robert Braith­waite snatch­ing two wick­ets for 12 runs, and Per­ry Leza­ma two for 13.

On Mon­day, An­thax de­feat­ed Team Pro by six wick­ets to se­cure their spot in the mi­nor semi­fi­nal against Sa­van­nah Boys.

Team Pro took first strike and post­ed 83 for four wick­ets in ten overs with Nigel Frame ham­mer­ing 27 not out, and Dereck Singh 20 not out on­ly for An­thrax to make a su­uc­ss­ful chase of the tar­get and reach 87 for four wic­nets in nine overs led by Ryan Baksh stroking his way to 19, while for­mer na­tion­al play­er and cur­rent coach Rayad Em­rit made 18, and Sunil Boodans­ingh 17.

A day ear­li­er in the Garfield Roberts Memo­r­i­al ‘Best Of The Rest’ ma­jor semi­fi­nal, Bluffuzz de­feat­ed Club House by 13 runs and will meet the win­ners of the mi­nor semi­fi­nal be­tween Club House and the win­ner of the quar­ter­fi­nal be­tween Up­ris­ing and Cul­ture.
