Twin broth­ers Ah­keel "Smal­ly" Boyd and Ah­keem "Fat­to" Boyd were un­stop­pable as they led Mal­oney Pac­ers to a 97-88 vic­to­ry over Cale­do­nia Clip­pers when ac­tion con­tin­ued in the Big Bas­ket­ball League on Fri­day night.

The teams met in the sec­ond match of a dou­ble-head­er at the Mal­oney In­door Sports Are­na and the duo dom­i­nat­ed pro­ceed­ings from the jump ball to help Pac­ers re­main un­beat­en af­ter five match­es in the 10-team com­pe­ti­tion.

Shoot­ing guard Smal­ly was once again his side's best play­er as he lit up the bas­ket with a match-high 34 points which in­clud­ed four three-point­ers. An­oth­er play­er in great form was fel­low shoot­ing guard and broth­er Fat­to, who put up 20 points, al­so net­ting four from be­yond the three-pint arc.

They got good sup­port from Ronal­do Palmer with 11 as Pac­ers led at the end of each quar­ter, 29-21 in the first, 57-42 at half­time and in the third, 75-59.

Clip­pers, who was down by atleast 20 points in the fourth and fi­nal pe­ri­od, made a run in the fi­nal five min­utes of the match and came with­in eight but the vet­er­ans could not get the win.

Lead­ing the way for Clip­pers was Kurt "Kot­to" Chris­t­ian with pro­duced a team-high 26 points. He was aid­ed by Steven "Lighter" Lewis, Or­lan­do Mapp and Ger­ald Toney, who each net­ted 11.

In the open­ing match of the night, De­fence Force's mis­ery con­tin­ued in the league as they were sound­ly beat­en by Strak­er Nets, 93-57.

Jer­rel Door­bal top­scored with 15 points and his fel­low post play­er Chike Au­gus­tine net­ted 14 in the lop­sided af­fair which saw Strak­er hold the ad­van­tage in each quar­ter, re­spec­tive­ly – 34-19, 53-37, 74-45 – be­fore seal­ing the huge 36-point vic­to­ry. Strak­er now im­prove its record to 5-1.

For the army/coast guard com­bi­na­tion team, Ian Carter led with 14 and De­von Wad­dle added 12 in a los­ing ef­fort.
