Carapichaima East has been promoted to the PowerGen Secondary Schools Premiership Division I for the 2021 season after the school defeated Couva East Secondary by eight wickets in the South Championship clash in Freeport on Tuesday.
Batting first Couva East made 159 all out with M Brazul getting 39. A Sammy was the pick of the bowlers for Couva East taking 3/25. Terell Leacock then smashed the bowling all over the park getting 92 as Caps reached 160 for two to take an eight-wicket win.
St. Benedicts College continued their great form as they got past St Mary's College (CIC) in their encounter in the Premiership Division I. CIC made 184 for nine in 50 overs with Gerard Chin scoring 40, Nick Ramlal 26, Keiron John 25 and Leon Basanoo 21. St Benedicts then scraped home at 187 for nine with Crystian Thurton spearheading the effort with 66.
Presentation College was also in form as they toppled defending champions Hillview College in their clash at UWI. Sanjay Jawahir and Vanir Maharaj were very good with the ball as they restricted Hillview College to 120 all out.
Jawahir then scored 37 to lead the effort as Presentation San Fernando reached their target for the loss of seven wickets.
