Carimbocas, Kallicharan stroke centuries for Parkites

Queen’s Park Crick­et Club bat­ting duo Camil­lo Carim­bo­cas and Kirstan Kallicha­ran both scored cen­turies against Preysal Sports Club on the third day of the T&T Crick­et Board Pre­mier­ship Di­vi­sion I match played at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port-of-Spain on Sun­day.

The bats­men came to­geth­er with the score of 119 for 2 and shared a 164-run part­ner­ship that was dom­i­nat­ed by the right-hand mid­dle-or­der at­tack­ing bats­man Kallicha­ran who con­tributed an even un­beat­en 100 out of the 164. Carim­bo­cas record­ed five six­es and eight fours in his top-scored knock of 124 runs from 171 balls. Kallicha­ran’s in­nings in­clud­ed 13 fours and a six from 87 balls.

Ear­li­er, Preysal re­sumed its in­nings on 175 for 4 and lost their re­main­ing six wick­ets for 98 runs. Kevlon An­der­son was able to get to his hun­dred and re­mained un­beat­en on 129 as he watched his team­mates fall at the oth­er end. Jon Russ Jagges­sar added 3 more wick­ets to his overnight haul to fin­ish with 5 for 43.

When QPCC1 took to the crease for the sec­ond time, the team lost open­er Jor­dan Warn­er for eight, and num­ber-three bats­man Isa­iah Ra­jah for 45. At that point, open­ing bats­man Carim­bo­cas was joined by Kallicha­ran.

At Syne Vil­lage, Clarke Road’s Nicholas Sookdeosingh struck an un­beat­en 101 to force a draw against de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Pow­er­gen. Af­ter no play was pos­si­ble on Sat­ur­day be­cause of rain, the reign­ing cham­pi­ons re­sumed their first in­nings on 227 for 6 and lost their re­main­ing 4 wick­ets for 24 runs fin­ish­ing with a to­tal of 251.

Clarke Road was skit­tled out for 91 in their first in­nings. Joshua James reached 19 and Adri­an added Mo­hammed 18. An­tho­ny Adams and Adri­an Mo­hammed each took five-wick­et hauls to give Pow­er­gen a first-in­nings lead of 162. Clarke Road was asked to fol­low on, and then came Nicholas Sookdeosingh who hit 4 six­es and 12 fours in his un­beat­en 101 as Clarke Road closed on 161 for 4 and force a draw.
