Teshawn Castro was the star of the second day of the sixth edition of the Dream 11 Trinidad T10 Blast at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, San Fernando on Tuesday.
The powerfully built allrounder led Steelpan Players to a nine-wicket win over Trillions Systems Limited.
Castro struck five fours and two sixes as he struck an unbeaten 45 from just 23 balls as the Steelpan players got to 67 for one, overhauling the 64-run target set by the Trillions squad. Jyd Goolie fresh from Red Force duty in the just concluded Cricket West Indies Regional Super 50 Cup scored an unbeaten 20 from 11 balls.
Earlier Trillions had four batters in double figures. Mbeki Joseph scored 13 from 11 balls, scoring the same as Shaquille David who was batting at a strike rate of only 56.62 (23 balls) as the Steelpan bowlers and fielders stifled him.
Shakeel Johnson and Damion Joachim both scored 10 from 11 balls as the Trillions batsmen struggled with the Steelpan bowlers in closing on 63 for 4 from their eight overs, reduced by rain.
In the earlier match, Soca Kings rebounded from Monday's loss to beat Scarlet Ibis Scorchers by three wickets in another eight-over match.
Joshua Ramdoo and Mikkel Govia both scored 28 in the Scorchers' innings of 72 for 3 before Tion Webster's 24 enabled the Soca Kings to get to 73 for 7 in the last ball of the innings.
