Kale Dal­la Cos­ta was one of the on­ly bright sparks on day two for T&T at the JITIC GA and G3 Ten­nis Tour­na­ment in Can­cun, Mex­i­co on Sun­day.

Dal­la Cos­ta, the 2021 boys un­der-14 sin­gles win­ner of the Lease Op­er­a­tors Ju­nior Tour­na­ment, de­feat­ed Tris­tan Pe­tit of Bermu­da in straight sets 6-1 6-0 play­ing out of Group VI at the tour­na­ment. Al­so win­ning on the day was Bre­an­na Har­richa­ran who took care of Maria Pin­to of Hon­duras 6-1, 1-6, 10-6. The game was a con­tin­u­a­tion of an ear­li­er match the day be­fore.

Har­richa­ran, an­oth­er Lease Op­er­a­tors stand­out play­ers, had tak­en the ad­vance ear­ly on Sat­ur­day be­fore the match was stopped with the Hon­duran at­tempt­ing to make a come­back. But fol­low­ing a tri­umph by the Hon­duran to force a play-off, Har­richa­ran re­turned to the courts yes­ter­day to as­sure her­self the win.

Out­side of that it was not the best of days for the coun­try’s ju­nior play­ers, as Yeshowah Camp­bell-Smith was beat­en by Patrick Mac Tag­gart of Ba­hamas 6-4, 6-3 in Group I, Aaron Subero went down to Diego Bus­ta­mente of Hon­duras 6-1, 6-0 in Group V and Bri­an Har­richa­ran suc­cumbed to a 6-0, 6-1 de­feat to Yared Al­fred of the USVI in Group VII.
