Leston De Roche and Dana Lewis copped the open titles when the fourth annual University of T&T (UTT) National Aerobathon powered by KFC took place at the National Cycling Centre in Balmain, Couva, on Sunday.
In the men’s Open category, De Roche won with a time of one hour, four minutes and 31.3 seconds, with Gerard Richards a distant second-place finisher with a time of one hour and 33 seconds, while Zion Nicholas took the third spot in one hour and 14.1 seconds, followed by Jeron Haccketr and Darius George in the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
In the women’s Open, Lewis emerged as the winner in one hour, four minutes and 51.8 seconds, with Falomi Marcano second in one hour, three minutes, 26.9 seconds, and Anischa Maharaj-Sookoo third, in one hour, three minutes, 11.9 seconds.
The aerobathon brought together fitness enthusiasts, families, and the wider community for an evening dedicated to movement, wellness, and connection.
The event came on the heels of the sold-out inaugural KFC Colonel’s 5K and 1K Race held on April 11, involving UTT, which further reinforced the partnership and encouraged thousands of participants to embrace fitness, also supporting the KFC Harvest Programme, which helps nourish vulnerable communities across the country.
This year’s aerobathon also placed special emphasis on women in sport and wellness, supported by the T&T Olympic Committee (T&TOC), which featured an enhanced wellness experience, including a massage recovery corner available to all participants.
Returning partners for the event included Nestlé Trinidad and Tobago, Guiltless Yoghurt, and Central Athletic Club, alongside 103.1FM, which returned as the official radio partner.
