Defence Force women aims to extent WoLF lead

De­fence Force will be con­fi­dent of main­tain­ing their four points lead at the top of the T&T Women’s League Foot­ball (TT WoLF) Trinidad stand­ings when they face strug­gling Po­lice FC at the De­fence Force Re­serves Ground, Mac­queripe, Ch­aguara­mas on Sun­day (March 30) from 4 pm.

As it stands, the Army/Coast-Guard com­bi­na­tion women lead the eight-team Trinidad stand­ings with 19 points from sev­en match­es, four clear of de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Club San­do who have a match in hand while the Uni­ver­si­ty of T&T Pa­tri­ots and Point Pi­o­neers are next with ten points each.

De­fence Force will go in­to to­day’s en­counter brim­ming with con­fi­dence fol­low­ing a 6-0 win over Trinci­ty Na­tion­als while Po­lice FC were stunned 2-0 Point Pi­o­neers FC and will be out to bounce back.

The match of the round will take place at the Uni­ver­si­ty of T&T O’Meara Road Cam­pus, Ari­ma, where UTT, 4-0 vic­tors over Ath­let­ic In­ter­na­tion­al Acde­my hosts Club San­do, who clob­bered

Diego Mar­tin Cen­tral Unit­ed 32-0, led by nine goals from T&T in­ter­na­tion­al Karyn Forbes and eight from Ah­kee­lah Mol­lon.

In the oth­er match­es Sun­day, Point Pi­o­neers en­ter­tains Ath­let­ic In­ter­na­tion­al Acad­e­my at Ma­haica Oval Sports Com­plex, Pt Fortin from 2 pm while Trinci­ty Na­tion­als comes up against Di­geo Mar­tin Unit­ed, Ed­die Hart Ground, Tu­na­puna, from 4 pm.

To­day, the ac­tion will get go­ing in To­ba­go where run-away lead­ers To­ba­go Chi­cas, with 16 points from sev­en match­es will face Jew­els Sc at Sig­nal Hill Recre­ation Ground, Sig­nal Hill from 4 pm while Black Pan­thers tack­les Com­bined Ballerz at Bish­ops High School Ground, To­ba­go, three hours ear­li­er.
