First Citizens and the T&T Olympic Committee have renewed their partnership.
The bank has reinforced its commitment to continue to provide financial support to the athletes on their journey to representing T&T on the sports world stage through its contribution to the T&T Olympic Committee’s (TTOC) Gold Foundation Fund.
Neela Kissoon, Group Deputy CEO – Operations and Administration (Designate), First Citizens, countersigned the agreement with TTOC president Diane Henderson at the First Citizens Headquarters on December 15. The ceremonial handover signalled another year of partnership ahead of the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games scheduled to take place in Paris, France from July 26 to August 11.
“We are pleased to support our athletes and their personal development in pursuit of their sporting goals,” Kissoon said via a release.
Since 2019, this collaboration has exemplified the Group’s commitment to sport, which echoes the International Olympic Committee’s vision of “Building a Better World through Sport”.
Henderson said, “We’re extremely grateful for the continued support from First Citizens over the past five years which has aided some of our athletes with medaling at international events.”
Looking ahead to the 2023-2024 partnership, First Citizens, according to the release, envisions impactful outcomes as it aims to fortify the connections with the community through sports development, empowering individuals and fostering a culture of excellence. The Group is excited for another successful partnership with the TTOC for the continued growth and success of sports in the region.
