Har­ri­son Hadeed made a pos­i­tive start to the Sagi­cor Ju­nior Ten­nis Tour­na­ment host­ed by the Ten­nis Pa­trons Acad­e­my with a tense three-set win over Austin Ward at the Na­tion­al Rac­quet Cen­tre in Tacarigua Sat­ur­day.

Hadeed got the bet­ter of Ward 4-2, 3-5 (10-7) in their Boys Un­der-14 Sin­gles meet­ing while Adam Ar­joon blanked Arin Ha­gley 4-0, 4-0.

Ryan Steuart beat Tedros Charles, 4-0, 4-0, and Ro­han Ram­char­i­tar trounced Ja­cob Claver­ie, 4-0, 4-0.

In the Girls 14 Sin­gles, Anaya Roberts beat Amelia Woo 4-0, 4-2; Samiyah Mo­hammed blanked Shae­na Phillip 4-0, 4-0 and Jor­danne Ma­son out­played Lau­rielle Lewis 4-2, 4-0.

The six-day tour­na­ment fea­tures com­pe­ti­tion in the U-10, U-12, U-14, U-16 and U-18 age groups, and will con­tin­ue Sun­day from 9 am.
