NEW YORK, United States —Guyana’s Attoya Harvey, a sophomore at Monroe College, has been named 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Atlantic Region Women’s Athlete of the Year.
Harvey has enjoyed a stellar season, which has seen her qualify for a region-leading six events at the National Championships, while being ranked top in three individual events: the 600m, 800m, 1000m, along with the 4x400m relay, and distance medley relay.
She is also ranked in the top ten nationally in four of her six qualified events.
The prestigious award comes on the heels of Harvey being crowned the Women’s Track Athlete of the Year by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Additionally, Monroe College head coach Shirvon Greene and assistant coach Shanique McKenzie-Daniel were named Atlantic Region Women’s Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year, respectively. CMC
