Harvey named NJCAA Women’s Athlete of the Year

NEW YORK, Unit­ed States —Guyana’s At­toya Har­vey, a sopho­more at Mon­roe Col­lege, has been named 2025 Na­tion­al Ju­nior Col­lege Ath­let­ic As­so­ci­a­tion (NJ­CAA) At­lantic Re­gion Women’s Ath­lete of the Year.

Har­vey has en­joyed a stel­lar sea­son, which has seen her qual­i­fy for a re­gion-lead­ing six events at the Na­tion­al Cham­pi­onships, while be­ing ranked top in three in­di­vid­ual events: the 600m, 800m, 1000m, along with the 4x400m re­lay, and dis­tance med­ley re­lay.

She is al­so ranked in the top ten na­tion­al­ly in four of her six qual­i­fied events.

The pres­ti­gious award comes on the heels of Har­vey be­ing crowned the Women’s Track Ath­lete of the Year by the US Track & Field and Cross Coun­try Coach­es As­so­ci­a­tion (UST­FC­C­CA).

Ad­di­tion­al­ly, Mon­roe Col­lege head coach Shir­von Greene and as­sis­tant coach Shanique McKen­zie-Daniel were named At­lantic Re­gion Women’s Head Coach and As­sis­tant Coach of the Year, re­spec­tive­ly. CMC
