BEN­GALU­RU – Hay­ley Matthews got the bet­ter of her West In­dies team­mate Chinelle Hen­ry as the Mum­bai In­di­ans Women strolled to a com­fort­able eight wick­et vic­to­ry over the UP War­riorz Women when the Women’s Pre­mier League con­tin­ued in In­dia on Wednes­day.

Af­ter win­ning the toss and opt­ing to field at the M Chin­naswamy Sta­di­um, the Mum­bai In­di­ans did well to re­strict their op­po­nents to 142 for nine from their 20 overs.

Grace Har­ris top­scored with 45 from 26 balls and Di­nesh Vrin­da hit 33 from 30 balls. Hen­ry, who came in at num­ber eight, made just sev­en.

Nat Sciv­er-Brunt took 3-18 from her four overs, while San­skri­ti Gup­ta and Shab­n­im Islmail took two wick­ets apiece.

Open­er Matthews then scored 59 from 50 balls, in­clu­sive of sev­en fours and two six­es, while Sciv­er-Brunt hit an un­beat­en 75 from 44 balls to pro­pel the Mum­bai In­di­ans to 143 for two off 17 overs.

The two added 133 runs for the sec­ond wick­et af­ter open­er Yasti­ka Bha­tia fell for a duck, to com­plete­ly turn the tide in their favour.

Hen­ry went wick­et­less in her four overs while con­ced­ing 24 runs.

With the win, the Mum­bai In­di­ans jumped to the top of the ta­ble on six points from four match­es, while the loss dropped the War­riorz to fourth place on four points.
