With T&T Pro League lead­ers De­fence Force on a bye this week­end, and sec­ond-placed Ter­minix La Hor­quet­ta Rangers not in ac­tion un­til Sun­day, Po­lice FC and Mor­vant Cale­do­nia Unit­ed will have their eyes set on clos­ing the gap at the top when they face off on Fri­day.

The meet­ing be­tween Po­lice FC and Mor­vant Cale­do­nia Unit­ed will be the fea­ture clash of a dou­ble-head­er at the Ato Boldon Sta­di­um, Cou­va from 8 pm.

Two hours ear­li­er at the same venue, Cen­tral FC and San Juan Jabloteh, past three-time and four-time league win­ners will do bat­tle in the cur­tain-rais­er.

Cur­rent­ly, De­fence Force who last won the ti­tle in the 2012/2013 sea­son leads the 11-team ta­ble with 26 points from 11 match­es, sev­en ahead of Rangers while Po­lice FC and Mor­vant Cale­do­nia Unit­ed com­plete the top-four with 18 and 17 points re­spec­tive­ly, mean­ing a win on Fri­day for the lat­ter two will see them climb to the sec­ond spot ahead of the com­ple­tion of the week­end fix­tures.

The Richard Hood-coached Law­men will en­ter the match on the heels of a lack­lus­tre goal­less stale­mate with cel­lar-placed Cunu­pia FC while Mor­vant Cale­do­nia un­der the guid­ance of for­mer T&T World Cup mid­field­er, Den­sil "Bleed­er" Theobald last played in a 0-0 draw with AC Port-of-Spain on Sat­ur­day af­ter their match against W Con­nec­tion card­ed for Wednes­day was post­poned to a date to be de­ter­mine.

Jabloteh, fifth on the stand­ings with 13 points are com­ing off a 5-0 spank­ing from Club San­do and coach Kei­th Jef­frey will al­so be keen for his team to re­dis­cov­er their bat­tling form which has seen them tak­en points off of De­fence Force, and W Con­nec­tion al­ready this sea­son, while Cen­tral FC was held to a 1-1 draw on Wednes­day night against AC Port-of-Spain at Cou­va.

On Sun­day, AC Port-of-Spain and Ter­minix La Hor­quet­ta Rangers face off at Lar­ry Gomes Sta­di­um, Mal­abar, from 3.30 pm, while at the Ato Boldon Sta­di­um, Cou­va is dou­ble-head­ers is sched­uled from 4pm, with W Con­nec­tion meet­ing Pt Fortin Civic fol­lowed by Cunu­pia FC and Tiger Tanks Club San­do.
