Queen’s Park Table Tennis Club will be boosted by the return of Commonwealth Games players, Guyana’s Shemar Britton and T&T’s Derron Douglas when the team serve off the defence of its Insurance Company of the West Indies (ICWI) Table Tennis Champions League Tournament title at the Eastern Regional Indoor Regional Sports Arena, Tacarigua from 6.30 pm on Wednesday.
The Parkites who won the competition ahead of Renegades (now Legends United) last year will also feature 12-time national women’s champion Aleena Edwards, two-time women’s singles champion Brittany Joseph, Joshua Maxwell, Aaron Edwards, Abraham Francis, and Imani Edwards-Taylor, all past or present senior or junior national players on their roster for the six-club competition with their opening clash against WASA Table Tennis Club.

In the other matches carded for Tacarigua this evening, the newly formed North East/West plays Solo Crusaders while Arima Table Tennis Club clashes with Legends United, and on Thursday (August 11), Legends United and Solo Crusaders clash from 6.15 pm followed by QPCC against North East/West, and Arima Table Tennis Club faces WASA Table Tennis Club.
The Parkites and WASA are not the only teams who have an injection of foreign firepower as Arima Table Tennis Club will be boosted by four Guyanese players in Jonathan Van Lange (Guyana), Niran Bissu (Guyana), Colin Wong (Guyana), and Krystian Sahadeo (Guyana) while Legends United line-up includes Barbadian duo, Tyrese Knight, the 2017 Caribbean junior champion, and Ramon Maxwell (Barbados).
