The Dwight Yorke-coached ‘Soca Warriors’ then face Haiti at Shell Energy Stadium, Houston, Texas, on Thursday, June 19, from 5.45 pm, followed by a clash with Saudi Arabia at Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sunday, June 22, from 4 pm.
The 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup opening match will take place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California, featuring defending champions Mexico and the Dominican Republic on Saturday, June 14, while the final, where the Gold Cup’s champion will be crowned, will be held at NRG Stadium on July 6.
For the 16-team draw of the 18th edition of the competition, which took place on Thursday night in Miami, Florida, USA, the Soca Warriors were drawn in pot three along with Guatemala, El Salvador and Suriname after defeating Cuba 6-1 on aggregate in their preliminary round qualifier, 2-1 away on March 21, in Santiago, Cuba, and 4-0 on March 25, at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva.
Prior to competing in the Gold Cup in June, the Soca Warriors will resume their second CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers against St Kitts/Nevis and Costa Rica in Group B on June 6 and Costa Rica four days later.
T&T is currently second in their 2026 FIFA CONCACAF World Cup Second Round Group B qualifiers with four points from two matches, trailing Costa Rica, who has a maximum of six points after a 2-2 draw at home to St Kitts & Nevis and a 7-1 win on the road against Bahamas.
At the end of the round-robin series, the top two teams will advance to the next stage of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers.
Thursday night’s draw was co-hosted by sports anchors and TV presenters Ana Jurka, Mariah Ramharack, and Alejandro Berry, in the presence of CONCACAF President and FIFA Vice President Victor Montagliani.
CONCACAF’s Chief Football Competitions Officer, Carlos Fernandez, conducted the draw and was assisted by three former Gold Cup champions: Dwayne De Rosario (Canada), Jorge Campos (Mexico), and Marcelo Balboa (USA), alongside Panama’s Blas Pérez.
Overall, the 16 teams in the draw earned a spot in the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup through their performances in the 2024/25 CONCACAF Nations League and the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup Prelims.
The four teams to qualify from the 2024/25 CONCACAF Nations League as quarterfinal winners were eventual champions Mexico, runner-up Panama, third-placed finisher Canada, and the USA, while the qualifiers through the 2024/25 CONCACAF Nations League, as League B group winners, were Curaçao (Group B), the Dominican Republic (Group D), El Salvador (Group A), and Haiti (Group C), with Costa Rica, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, and Suriname joining T&T as qualifiers via the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup prelims matchups, while Saudi Arabia was the lone invited team.
Based on the CONCACAF men’s national team rankings as of March 26, the 15 participating CONCACAF teams were separated into Pots 1-4, with the current champions and the three highest-ranked teams in Pot One and the lowest-ranked in Pot Four, while guest nation Saudi Arabia will be placed in Pot Four.
The competition’s official draw was carried out using a double-blind system involving eight pots.
Pots One to Four contained the spheres with the names of the participating teams, and Pots Five to Eight will contain Group A, B, C, and D spheres.
For the CONCACAF Gold Cup group stage draw, Pot One comprised Mexico, Canada, Panama, and the USA; Pot Two comprised Costa Rica, Jamaica, Honduras, and Haiti; Pot Three comprised Guatemala, T&T, El Salvador, and Suriname; and Pot Four comprised Guadeloupe, Curaçao, the Dominican Republic, and Saudi Arabia.
The tournament will kick off on June 14 and end on June 24.
The four group winners and four runners-up will advance to the Knockout Stage.
