In a display of remarkable skill and leadership, Ty Warwick led the Holy Name Convent basketball team to their fourth consecutive title in the girls' Open divsion of the Secondary Schools Basketball League, cementing their dominance.
In the final match of the season against Mucurapo West played at Fatima College ground in Port-of-Spain, on Wednesday, Holy Name emerged victorious with a commanding 34-8 with Warwick leading the way with an outstanding 27 points.
Throughout the season in the hosted by the T&T Schools Basketball Association, Warwick has been a standout performer, consistently demonstrating her prowess on both ends of the court. Averaging an impressive 23.6 points per game and contributing 3.1 steals per game, Warwick's contributions have been instrumental in Holy Name Convent's success this season.
With this latest triumph, Holy Name now sets its sights on the National Championships, scheduled from March 21-24. Having finished as runner-up in the national championships last year, Holy Name Convent is determined to go all the way this year and claim the ultimate prize.
Speaking about the team's success, coach Garvin Warwick expressed his pride in his daughter's leadership and the team's collective effort.
He said: "Ty's exceptional performance and leadership have been instrumental in our success this season. We are incredibly proud of her and the entire team for their dedication and hard work. As we prepare for the national championships, we are confident in our abilities and determined to give it our all on the court."
Holy Name will now await the winners of the other three zones, who will join them in the battle for national supremacy.
