Tariq Woods claimed the over­all win when the St Christo­pher’s An­gli­can Church held its Cy­cle Road Race on Sun­day in Siparia.

Woods, in Sep­tem­ber, ped­alled to vic­to­ry in the Elite and Un­der-23 men’s di­vi­sion of the TT Cy­cling Fed­er­a­tion’s Road Chal­lenge No 5 Cri­teri­um event at Tamana In-Tek Park, and on Sun­day he pro­duced sim­i­lar form to seal the top spot in the elite cat­e­go­ry rep­re­sent­ing the Evo­lu­tion Cy­cling Acad­e­my.

Though chal­lenged by a tough field of rid­ers, Woods dug deep to get the bet­ter of sec­ond-place Liam Trepte of Team Raiders Cy­cle and Mul­ti­sport, with Mau­rice Bur­nett claim­ing the third-place fin­ish in the di­vi­sion. Lat­er, he was al­so named the over­all win­ner, as he pipped Trepte for the ti­tle.

Trepte, con­sid­ered the coun­try’s ris­ing road race and long-dis­tance tal­ent, has won sev­er­al key events in­clud­ing the cy­cling fed­er­a­tion’s 2024 Road Cy­cling Chal­lenge Se­ries Elite 80k event ear­li­er this year in a time of one hour and 37 min­utes.
