The Gov­ern­ment is in­creas­ing var­i­ous lev­els of stipend pay­ments for par­tic­i­pants in the On-The-Job train­ing pro­gramme to the cost of $70 mil­lion, Sci­ence Tech­nol­o­gy and Ter­tiary Ed­u­ca­tion Min­is­ter Chris­tine Kan­ga­loo said yes­ter­day.

Kan­ga­loo spoke about the in­creas­es at yes­ter­day's week­ly Gov­ern­ment news con­fer­ence. She said Cab­i­net de­cid­ed to in­crease the stipends which has not been in­creased since 2005. The OJT pro­gramme which of­fer train­ing to 16 to 35 year olds, cur­rent­ly has 6,000-plus par­tic­i­pants.
