TIMOTHY: DR. EARL ERROL of Port of Spain died following an extended illness on January 19th, 2014 in Kingston, Jamaica. He was 82 years old and was the son of the late Irene Timothy-Abbot and grandson of the late Edgar and Delmina Timothy of Mayaro. Dr. Timothy graduated from St. Mary's College in Port of Spain before receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Guelph in Canada and the University of Wisconsin at Madison in the US. His career in Trinidad included Director of the Eastern Caribbean Insti- tute of Agriculture and Forestry (ECIAF), Director of Extension at the Ministry of Agriculture; and Lecturer in the Faculty of Agriculture at UWI, St. Augustine. He was an avid Carnival masquerader, playing leading roles with the late Ken Morris for many years and later with Peter Minshall before becoming an official with the National Carnival Bands Association. Dr. Timothy is survived by his wife Helen Pyne-Timothy, children Rae Timothy of Chicago, Robin Pyne Timothy of Port of Spain and Leslie Timothy of New York City, and one grandchild.
