American professional women's bodybuilder, Iris Kyle (born Mildred Carter), the reigning Ms Olympia will be one of two international guest posers when the eighth annual Sportworld Classic takes place tonight from 7 pm. The show organised by T&T's IFBB professional Lawrence "The Beast" Marshall will be held at the Dr Joao Havelange, Centre of Excellence, Macoya. The 36-year-old Kyle won her first contest, the Long Beach Muscle Classic, in 1994 and earned her pro card by winning the heavyweight class and overall title at the 1998 NPC USA Championship in Las Vegas. Kyle has had a series of high placings as a professional, including six consecutive top five showings at the Ms Olympia.
She won the heavyweight class at the Ms Olympia in 2001, then captured the overall titles at both the Ms International and Ms Olympia in 2004. In 2006, Kyle won both her second Ms International title and her second Ms Olympia title; she repeated this double victory in 2007. She won her third straight Ms Olympia title in 2008 and followed up with victories again in 2009 and last year. The other international bodybuilder who will be on show is the 33-year-old Dennis Wolf, who was born in Tokmak, Kyrgyzstan. Wolf, who moved with his family to Germany in 1992 and now resides in Colorado Springs, USA first became interested in bodybuilding as a hobby.
In addition to the guest posers, the locals will muscle it out for top prizes in seven categories.These include, novice, masters, lightweight, lightmiddleweight, lightheavyweight, heavyweight and women's figure (Open). Admission is $200 for adults and $150 for children under-12.
