“We want you to know that your support and trust has been invaluable to the execution of 549 projects impacting the 192,000 people in Trinidad and Tobago.”
These were the celebratory words uttered by Digicel Foundation CEO, Penny Gomez in speaking with staff and Digicel customers on the milestone day on July 25 as the foundation celebrated its 10th anniversary.
In a release from Digicel it was explained that the commemorative day was filled with activities for staff. One key highlight of the day was the launch of the Red Army —staff volunteers who will be involved in community outreach activities supported by the foundation.
The Digicel Foundation started in 2012 and over the years has focused its efforts on improving opportunities for persons with special needs and enabling community based organisation to develop and transform community spaces.
Digicel said COVID restrictions allowed the foundation to incorporate more digital technology in its community outreach efforts.
Young women between the ages of 15-21 wishing to pursue a career in Information Computer Technology (ICT) can look forward to the inspiration and knowledge that the foundation’s annual Girls Power Tech event brings.
