LA BOR­DE, KWAILAN, T.C. “The First La­dy of Sail­ing” passed away peace­ful­ly on Wednes­day 29th May, 2024. Daugh­ter of the late James Yew Woon and Josephine Al­bert. Wife of the late Cap­tain Harold La Bor­de, T.C. Moth­er of Pierre and An­dre. Moth­er in law of Ave Nar­i­nesingh and Zoe La Bor­de. Grand­moth­er of Shan­non, Ara­ma and Sanchia. Sis­ter of Kwait­im, Kwaishek and the late Kwaileen, Kwaikhan and Kwai­he­ung. Aunt and friend to many. Kwailan was a sailor, a teacher and an ad­ven­tur­er along­side her hus­band Harold and son Pierre. They were the first Trinida­di­ans to sail around the world. Fu­ner­al mass for the late Kwailan La Bor­de takes place at The Church of the As­sump­tion, Long Cir­cu­lar Road, on Thurs­day 6th June , 2024 at 9:30am, fol­lowed by pri­vate cre­ma­tion.
