The T&T Photographic Society, in collaboration with Dada and Projects, recently hosted a photo walk documenting the rich tapestry of public art in Port-of-Spain.
This collaborative effort, designed to raise awareness and foster appreciation for public art, unfolded in the heart of Port-of-Spain. The event saw a diverse group of photographers and art enthusiasts come together to explore and capture the essence of various public art installations dotting the cityscape.
Participants were guided through a journey that included visits to six prominent public artworks, such as the Conquerabia mural, Woodford Square Fountain and Statue, the NALIS mural, Return of Canboulay Mas mural, Arise Emancipation Statue, and TSTT House mural.
Each stop provided a unique opportunity for attendees to delve into the historical significance and artistic beauty of these cultural landmarks.
Valerie Taylor, representing Dada and Projects, shared invaluable insights into the background and context of each artwork, enriching the experience for all participants.
Attendees were encouraged to unleash their creativity and capture their interpretations through the lens of their cameras, fostering a deeper connection with the art and the community it represents.
Dada and Projects is a T&T-based NGO that aims to educate, activate, and facilitate the development and installation of public art to help lift and transform communities.
