Thousands join in livestream worship experience

An au­di­ence of more than 75,000 joined in re­cent­ly when lo­cal group Gates Praise Mu­sic host­ed a live stream wor­ship ex­pe­ri­ence, Wor­ship With­out Walls—The Bor­der­less Ex­pe­ri­ence.

The event, aimed at bring­ing hope in­to homes amid the COVID-19 pan­dem­ic, fea­tured groups and artistes from 14 coun­tries across the Caribbean and Africa. Rep­re­sen­ta­tives from each na­tion min­is­tered for ap­prox­i­mate­ly ten min­utes, pre­sent­ing songs of hope.

It cli­maxed with the Gates Praise Mu­sic cov­er song, Hope of Na­tions, which was writ­ten by Mikhail Shah, col­lab­o­ra­tive­ly sung and record­ed by all the par­tic­i­pat­ing coun­tries.

This song is now avail­able on YouTube – Hope of Na­tions WWW7 the bor­der­less ex­pe­ri­ence.

Ac­cord­ing to Face­book records, the event drew more than 12,000 and 1,100 shares.

“We be­lieve that as we wor­ship, and per­sons ex­pe­ri­ence the pres­ence of God, the hu­man spir­it is lift­ed, and lives changed, stat­ed a re­lease from the group about the on­line event.

Gates Praise made up of praise and wor­ship lead­ers from among the 80-plus First Church of the Open Bible con­gre­ga­tions in T&T, was found­ed by Rev Ce­cil Quam­i­na of the First Church of the Open Bible in San Fer­nan­do.

He was in­spired in 1983 by a prophet­ic word from God found in Isa­iah 60:18, “You shall call your walls Sal­va­tion and your gates Praise.”

Since its es­tab­lish­ment, the group has been on a mis­sion to “reach the world by us­ing our praise and wor­ship to tell our unique, Caribbean sto­ries through live con­certs, au­dio and video pro­duc­tions, books, sem­i­nars, work­shops and any oth­er ap­pro­pri­ate medi­um of com­mu­ni­ca­tion.”
