Nigel Romano has been appointed the chairman of the board of the National Insurance Property Development Company Limited (NIPDEC).
His appointment as chairman of the board came into effect on Thursday.
On August 2, Sonia Valerie-Kelsick’s appointment as NIPDEC chairman came to an end and Joseph Remy acted in the position before Romano was officially appointed to the post.
Another change in the NIPDEC board was made last month when Marvin Gonzales stopped being a director.
Gonzales is now the Minister of Public Utilities.
Romano was recently appointed as one of three members of the FIFA-appointed Normalisation Committee.
He is the chairman of the board at the National Flour Mills, and is a director and partner at Moore Trinidad and Tobago.
Romano previously held the position of managing director and chief executive officer at Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB), vice president operations at the Caribbean Development Bank, as well as sector head financial services at the ANSA McAL group.
He is also a weekly contributor at the Business Guardian Magazine.
