Re­pub­lic Bank has in­creased its Point of Sale (POS) lim­it from TT$7,500 to TT$10,000 as of yes­ter­day, Tues­day, De­cem­ber 10, 2019.

The Bank is en­cour­ag­ing cus­tomers to make use of the POS fa­cil­i­ties and elec­tron­ic chan­nels to com­plete their trans­ac­tions as the switch to the new one hun­dred (TT$100) dol­lar bill takes ef­fect.

In a state­ment, the bank said: “While the new notes are avail­able at all Branch­es, they will how­ev­er not be avail­able via the Blue Ma­chines (ABMs) as the Bank is present­ly work­ing with its ven­dors to re­cal­i­brate the ABMs to ac­cept the new notes.”

Ad­di­tion­al­ly, in or­der to fa­cil­i­tate cus­tomers’ trans­ac­tions, the RBL has tem­porar­i­ly amend­ed its open­ing hours where all non-mall branch­es from Mon­day to Thurs­day will open from 8 am to 4 pm, while the hours for Fri­day are from 8 am to 5 pm RBL al­so notes that there will be no clo­sures on Fri­days dur­ing the 8 am to 5 pm hours.

RBL dis­closed that the work­ing hours of all mall branch­es re­main un­changed with op­er­a­tions be­gin­ning at 10 am and end­ing at 5 pm. The bank not­ed that the afore­men­tioned hours will al­so ap­ply to Christ­mas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

To pro­vide teller ser­vices in the North, branch­es in Eller­slie, West Mall, Long Cir­cu­lar Mall, Glen­coe and Diego Mar­tin will be open on Sat­ur­days dur­ing the month of De­cem­ber from 9 am to 1 pm.

In South/Cen­tral the branch­es at South Park, Gulf View, Cou­va, Pt Fortin, Princes Town and Cen­tre City will be open on Sat­ur­days of De­cem­ber dur­ing the same hours. The same Sat­ur­day open­ing hours will ap­ply to the East branch­es at Ari­ma, Val­park, Trinci­ty and Grand Bazaar while in To­ba­go the branch at Auchenskeoch will be opened from 9 am to 1 pm.
