West Indian Tobacco Company (Witco) announced yesterday that Raoul Glynn “ceased to be the managing director” of the Champs Fleur-based cigarette manufacturer with effect from October 31, 2024.
Witco also announced that Glynn ceased to be a director of the company from the same date.
The announcement by Witco came yesterday in a notice published in the newspapers and on the website of the T&T Stock Exchange. Witco’s sister company, Carreras Ltd, reported in a notice on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday that Glynn had resigned from the Jamaican company effective November 1, 2024.
Glynn’s departure from Witco comes nearly five months after he was placed on paid administrative leave, pending an internal investigation. Witco announced on June 28, that Glynn was on administrative leave effective June 24.
In the June 28 notice, Witco said that Hiram Murillo would act as managing director of the company.
In yesterday’s notice, the cigarette manufacturer said Murillo would continue to act as managing director.
The parent company of both Witco and Carreras is British American Tobacco.
