Two guns and a quantity of ammunition were seized during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Western Division.
Police said the exercise was conducted between Monday and Tuesday by officers of the Western Division Task Force.
A police release said around 4.30 pm, PCs Murray, Mc Clean and Sahadath went to an area known as “Duck Farm,” at the corner of Cizan Trace and Blue Basin Road, Diego Martin.
A search of the area was conducted and an Astra Pistol loaded with six rounds of nine millimetre ammunition and 160 grammes of marijuana, were found hidden on the roof of an abandoned structure.
The officers also went to a standpipe in the area around 10 pm where they found one silver and black pistol wrapped in piece of cloth fitted with a magazine containing two rounds of nine millimetre ammunition.
The exercise was organised by Senior Supt Kelvern Thompson, co-ordinated by Supt Henry and ASP Baird and headed by Inspectors Reyes and Grant and Sgt Carmona.
