37 displaced in Tobago due to bad weather

A to­tal of 37 peo­ple are now been dis­placed as a re­sult of dev­as­ta­tion caused by the pas­sage of a strong trop­i­cal wave ear­li­er this week.

The rev­e­la­tion was made by Chief Sec­re­tary Far­ley Au­gus­tine dur­ing a press brief­ing a short while ago.

Au­gus­tine said ten af­fect­ed fam­i­lies will have to be re­lo­cat­ed.

Ac­cord­ing to the Chief Sec­re­tary's lat­est up­date, there have been 326 in­ci­dent re­ports, fifty per­cent have been land­slide re­lat­ed.

Au­gus­tine said crews were still grap­pling to clear de­bris and blocked road­ways as well as re­store elec­tric­i­ty to com­mu­ni­ties that are with­out pow­er.

The Chief Sec­re­tary stat­ed that all ef­forts were be­ing made to re­turn op­er­a­tions on the is­land to nor­mal­cy by Mon­day.
