Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a scuf­fle be­tween two men in San­gre Grande that end­ed in a fa­tal shoot­ing.

The vic­tim, David Nicholas Fields, 22, of Farm Road, Bois Bonde, San­gre Grande, died of his in­juries at hos­pi­tal.

Fields was speak­ing with an­oth­er man around 6 pm in front of his home on Mon­day when a man dressed in blue and wear­ing a mask ap­proached them. There was a scuf­fle af­ter the sus­pect re­moved a cell­phone and some cash from Fields’ pock­et.

Three loud ex­plo­sions were heard and the sus­pect fled the scene.

Fields was rushed to the San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal where he died.

Of­fi­cers from the San­gre Grande CID and East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force vis­it­ed the scene and searched the sur­round­ing area for the sus­pect but no one fit­ting the de­scrip­tion was found.

The scene was processed by crime scene in­ves­ti­ga­tors but noth­ing of ev­i­den­tial val­ue was found.
