4 charged with Possession of Firearm and Ammunition after road traffic accident

Four men ages 18 to 23, are ex­pect­ed to ap­pear be­fore a Port of Spain Mag­is­trate, af­ter they were charged with Pos­ses­sion of Firearm, and Pos­ses­sion of Am­mu­ni­tion.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, around 4.30 pm on Wednes­day, April 19, of­fi­cers re­spond­ed to the re­port of a road traf­fic ac­ci­dent at Au­drey Jef­fers High­way, in the vicin­i­ty of the Hase­ly Craw­ford Sta­di­um.

The of­fi­cers re­port­ed­ly found one Smith and Wes­son pis­tol and 14 rounds 40. cal am­mu­ni­tion, in the crashed ve­hi­cle, and three of the oc­cu­pants, who all re­side in Diego Mar­tin, were de­tained at the scene.

A fourth oc­cu­pant, the al­leged dri­ver of the ve­hi­cle, a res­i­dent of the Unit­ed States, was sub­se­quent­ly de­tained at Pi­ar­co In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port while await­ing a de­par­ture flight.

Of­fi­cers con­duct­ed in­ves­ti­ga­tions, then charged the four sus­pects with Pos­ses­sion of Firearm, and Pos­ses­sion of Am­mu­ni­tion.

Ad­di­tion­al­ly, the dri­ver of the ve­hi­cle was charged with Dan­ger­ous Dri­ving and was is­sued with two Fixed Penal­ty No­tices for Breach of Traf­fic Lights and Im­prop­er Over­tak­ing on the left.
