Trinidad and Tobago has been placed under a Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert.
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) announced in a statement that the alert will begin at 1:30 pm today and end at 6:00 pm.
The statement noted that there is a high chance of isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms with lightning developing over Trinidad and Tobago, due to a moist and unstable atmosphere.
Gusty winds and rainfall accumulations are expected with the heavier showers and thunderstorms.
The TTMS is also reminding citizens to remain alert for cloud-to-ground lightning activity and avoid floodwaters.
