Trinidad and To­ba­go has been placed un­der a Yel­low Lev­el Ad­verse Weath­er Alert.

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vice (TTMS) an­nounced in a state­ment that the alert will be­gin at 1:30 pm to­day and end at 6:00 pm.

The state­ment not­ed that there is a high chance of iso­lat­ed heavy show­ers and thun­der­storms with light­ning de­vel­op­ing over Trinidad and To­ba­go, due to a moist and un­sta­ble at­mos­phere.

Gusty winds and rain­fall ac­cu­mu­la­tions are ex­pect­ed with the heav­ier show­ers and thun­der­storms.

The TTMS is al­so re­mind­ing cit­i­zens to re­main alert for cloud-to-ground light­ning ac­tiv­i­ty and avoid flood­wa­ters.
