An Arima man is set to appear before a Magistrate today, to answer to several charges including drug trafficking.
According to police reports, on September 19, 2024, officers from the Eastern Division Gang Intelligence Unit (EDGIU) and the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) obtained information that led to their interception of a vehicle at the intersection of the Valencia and Toco Main Roads.
Upon searching the vehicle and the driver, the officers discovered packages containing 220 kilograms of cannabis.
The suspect subsequently was charged with several offenses: trafficking cannabis, failure to produce a driver's permit, driving without a valid certificate of insurance, and using a vehicle without the owner's consent.
